31 Bits, also an Orange County based company that empowers people through the fashion industry, was created by five young women, Kallie Dovel, Alli Swanson, Anna Toy, Brooke Hodges, and Jessie Simonson five years ago.

What began as a way to provide income for the women in Uganda has become a mission to care for the women physically, mentally, and emotionally. 31 Bits has since created a five-year holistic development program in Uganda where the women graduate with “an education, a career, social equity, confidence, and a voice.” The program includes counseling, health education, finance training and business mentoring.
